Great white sharks are ferocious predators, can reach a very fast speed and they can adapt to almost any conditions that makes great white sharks very resistant. For those who still do not know, great white sharks emerged a long time ago and even if major climate changes took place, they made it and continued to live, staying as strong as they were then. Great white sharks have an amazing speed of response and their very developed smell sense helps them to fast detect the prey and then kill it. Besides eating fish and mammals, great white sharks also attacked and even killed humans. There are many horrifying stories about that and there were made films in which great white sharks were presented as ferocious killers that murdered a lot of people.
Scientists tried to counteract this general belief about great white sharks by conceiving different experiments. These experiments involved humans that swim with great white sharks or even touch them. By doing so, they are trying to change the image about great white sharks, which are described as being very dangerous. There are theories saying they attack by fear, curiosity or when they take humans for their prey, so they are confused.
It is true that these creatures look very frightening due to their huge size, length and weight, but we still do not know very much about their lives. It is sure though they adapt very well and very fast to any habitat and are real survivors. Although they look so, great white sharks are still beings sensitive to pollution. Besides, they are also very hunted for soup and for manufacturing pills from their organs, so they are in danger. Without great white sharks, the natural balance would be completely turned upside down. So, these animals need protection even if we do not like them or perceive them as dangerous and horrible creatures. Too many animal species are extinct, but it is our responsibility to do something about it and stop endangering these beings.
